Description
This recipe was a team effort with Gip Dammone of Salvo’s Pizzeria in Leeds (one of the UK’s top 5 pizzerias). Gip asked us to help him perfect a gluten-free, wheat-free pizza. The result tastes ‘just like mama used to make’.
To make 4 thin-crust pizza bases you’ll need:
300g of Isabel’s Pizza Base Mix (2 sachets)
200ml of cow’s or soya milk
3 Tbsp olive oil
1 large free-range egg, lightly whisked.
To make the bases vegan you’ll need:
300g of Isabel’s Pizza Base Mix (2 sachets)
200g of mashed potato or sweet potato or squash
1½ tsp of baking powder to the mix instead of the egg
300ml soya or almond milk
3 Tbsp olive oil.
Add herbs such as oregano or finely chopped wild garlic to the flour mix
for more flavour, optional, but nice.
Also Makes: flat breads, pierogi and wraps.

Love these, have used them for years! Came up with a new twist just recently, cooking them in an air fryer. Wow! So far just tried “Cheesy Garlic Bread” but will have to try with various pizza toppings.
Need to do about a half size base to fit in our air fryer draw. Best bet seems to be preheat air fryer for 3 minutes, cook pizza base for 5 minutes on air fry, then take out (Careful not to burn yourself on the draw), turn over, apply topping and cook for another 3 minutes on airfry.

Love these, they are the best mix I have found. I normally part cook the base then add the topping.
Sometimes I fully cook with no topping then top with garlic butter, for a explosion of flavour.
