Brilliant stuff battered fish was superb.
Ian Truelove –
fantastic batter. As a coeliac, it’s nice to be able to make, amongst other things, quality fish and chips. Highly recommended, the best batter we’ve had in a long time.
Kenneth Flemming –
This is a brilliant company for their products. I have been a celiac for more that 40yrs so can positively say they produce a great product. Even if you are not gluten free try their batter mix and cook your own battered fish. You will not go to the fish and chip shop again! It is very light, fat free and very crispy.
Great all-round products.

Julia –
This batter mix is amazing. I made battered onion rings and the batter is so light. Making battered fish next time. Fully recommend it.
Judith Bell –
Absolutely delicious, but so hard to find in store
Karen –
I’m a vegetarian, lactose, soya and gluten intolerant so shopping for nice food is very hard. This batter mix tastes delicious on vegetables and if I add sparkling water I can do a tempora batter which is great too
Corinne –
Perfect! Best batter! Have tried in on fish and on chicken and shallow fried.

You really do only miss something when it’s gone…!
So, when my local Morrisons in Brecon stopped stocking Isabel’s Batter Mix I tried everything to recreate it but failed miserably ending up normally with some momentous sticky messes.
Morrisons replaced Isabel’s with their own, but as with many other ‘ready mixes’ this is one of those that needs all sorts of other ingredients that you may not have in your cupboard.
The only extra ingredient you need with Isabel’s Batter Mix is water ….and it works every time. Occasionally I do add dried chillies, paprika, turmeric, garam masala depending on what I am using it for; pakoras, onion bhaji, potato fritters, onion rings, tofu ….and every time it just works, and it works perfectly, it is truly the best and easiest Gluten Free batter mix I have every used…
…. haven’t tried mars bars yet though!
Looking forward to try some of the alternative recipes too, Focaccia and all.
Wonderful products, well done Isabel.

5 stars!!!
Used tonight to make salt and pepper tofu, really easy and such an authentic result, excellent.
Only downside, why have liquid measurements in grams and not millilitres?
